WHOLE SCHOOL EXCURSION

On Thursday 30th May our whole school went on an excursion to the city. First we went to see a performance by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. After a very quick walk and snack we visited the Ian Potter Art Gallery. Following our visit to at the Art Gallery we enjoyed our lunch. Then we visited ACMI’s Screen World. We had our photo taken in front of the HOLLYWOOD sign. Lastly we visited Hoiser Lane and saw all the street art and graffiti. Even though it was a rainy day we had a fantastic time in the city.

Have you ever gone to the city?

ANZAC Day

Anzac Day is held each year on April 25th. It is a day when people in Australia, New Zealand, and Turkey may remember those who died in wars, especially on the Gallipoli Peninsula during World War 1.

Although Anzac Day is thought of as mainly an Australian and New Zealand national day, people from many other nations were also involved in the fighting on the Gallipoli Peninsular in Turkey during 1915.

Radio Ads

This term we have been looking at how the media engages and influences our lives. We have studied print advertisements, television advertisements and today we looked closely at radio advertisements. Before television, radio was the key medium for spreading information and providing entertainment. Advertisers produced jingles and ongoing story lines in advertisements to promote their products.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

On Thursday 21st March ten students from our grade made their First Reconciliation. Reconciliation is one of the seven sacraments in the Catholic Church. We went on the bouncy castle until the other people started to come. Then me and my friends played Forty Forty. After that we went on the bouncy castle and talked. Then we played some games and cut the cake and tried to break the pinata and there were lots of food in there. This was the best birthday party I have ever been to.
